VENUTI ON THE LIMITS OF TRANSLATION

VENUTI ON THE LIMITS OF TRANSLATION

ABSTRACT. The main focus of this paper is the study of Venuti’s work on the identity-forming process of translation, the assimilative process of the translation, and Schleiermacher’s theory of foreignizing translation. Scholarship about the dominance of transparent discourse in translation has increased and consolidated, especially in recent years. Yet, there have been few comprehensive assessments of what research has learned about translation as the creation of community. pp. 108–114
