THE ROLE OF COMMUNICATION IN SHAPING THE CONDUCT OF POLITICS AND THE INTERACTIVE PRODUCTION OF PERSONALIZED INFORMATION

ABSTRACT. The paper generates insights about potentially productive connections, the experience of media consumption and production, the mediated lifeworld of citizen journalism, the Internet’s influence on politics, and emerging patterns of public attention. In the present paper, I focus on the excessive choices of today’s media environment, the intersection of mass and interpersonal communication, effects of new technologies on the extent of person-to-person linkages, the habitual nature of media use, and the diversity of political voices on the Internet. pp. 241–247

Keywords: politics, consumption habits, public attention, partisan bias
