DREPTATE, EGALITATE, LIBERTATE

ABSTRACT. Rawls's general conception of justice holds that the basic structure of society should be arranged so as to maximize the long-run expectation of primary goods for the group of members of society that is worst off in this respect. The adherents of strict equality started a search for some complex measure of goods that would be given to everybody in equal amounts but would not suffer from similar bad effects.
