ABSTRACT. The objective of this paper is to emphasize Husserl’s notion of the lifeworld, the connection between the transcendental ego and the lifeworld, and lifeworld as exemplified by a culturally conveyed and linguistically constructed stock of explanatory models. The analysis presented in this paper contributes to research on Husserl’s accounts of the lifeworld, communicative rationalizations of the lifeworld, and the interaction between lifeworld, history and reason. This study is grounded in the considerable body of scholarship examining social configurations of the lifeworld, structural constituents of the lifeworld, and the link between science and the lifeworld. pp. 115–120
