ABSTRACT. The theory that we shall seek to elaborate here puts considerable emphasis on environmental alterations in capitalism, conceptual and political obstacles impeding the advancement of green capitalism, the intricate multi-scalar political economy of environmental capitalism, and the devaluation of nature to a novel type of capital. The analysis presented in this paper contributes to research on the boundaries of the green economy, the growth of market-oriented green decision-making, the hegemonic consequences of the expansion of environmental economy rhetoric, and the ecological confines which capitalism is progressively dealt with.
