ABSTRACT. Based on an in-depth survey of the literature, the purpose of the paper is to explore the impact of sex and gender on incidence and case fatality of COVID-19 infection. Using and replicating data from Brookings, CWEEE, Global Health 50/50, IASC, Moalem (2020), New York Times, PAHO, Reeves and Ford (2020), Shattuck-Heidorn et al. (2020), and UN, we performed analyses and made estimates regarding differences in COVID-19 illness and death among women and men. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.
