THE RECONFIGURATION OF TRANSLATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE

THE RECONFIGURATION OF TRANSLATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE

ABSTRACT. The theory that I shall seek to elaborate here puts considerable emphasis on the translation fallout of crowdsourcing, the emergence of new forms of translation production/reception, the impacts of digital technology on translation practice, and the work of translation in the age of digital reproduction. I am specifically interested in how previous research investigated the contribution of translation to the construction of communities, translation’s relationship with technology, translation practices in the digital age, and the rising popularity of gist or indicative translation. pp. 156–161

Keywords: translation, MT, technology, digital age, process
