THE ROLE OF TRANSLATION IN BORGES’S CREATIVE PROCESS

ABSTRACT. This paper aims to analyze and discuss the role of translation in Borges’s writing, Borges’s writings on translation and its prevalence as a theme in his fiction, and the narrative features of Borges’s translation. The findings of this study have implications for Borges’s translation practices, Borges’s poetics at work in his translations and in the incorporation of translation into his fiction, and the role that translation has played in Borges’s creative work. pp. 171–176
