Addiction to Alcohol and Drugs. Causes and Effects

ABSTRACT. The aim of the current work is to try to join those who sound the alarm on the dangers that exists through the use of drugs and that society must fight against this scourge, which acts on the young population in particular, producing negative effects that affect the whole community and the individual in particular. The article also tries to highlight the actual level of information of young people which is improved through prevention campaigns and the media on drugs and the dangers they expose themselves to if they become consumers. The research highlighted these young people’s knowledge related to drug use and its effects, as well as the ages at which drug use began. The results of the research draw attention to the age of onset of the consumption of these substances by students and young people in general.
