FROM GEOPOLITICS TO GLOBAL GOVERNANCE?

ABSTRACT. Ideas such as cosmopolitan democracy are contributions to new debates and what these structures will look like; new innovative political arrangements are not only a necessity but also a possibility in the light of the changing organization of regional and global processes. Cosmopolitan democracy will only serve to intensify the enduring tensions between democracy and the protection of individual rights.
