ABSTRACT. The research presented in this article focuses on the utilization of automated journalism in newsrooms, the conventional character underlying compositional types of news exposed by the advent of automated news content products, and the function of computer-authored news in the social routine of journalism. My paper contributes to the literature by supplying evidence on the developing practice of automated news content generation, the transformative capacity of automated journalism to transform both the setting of available news and the labor routines of newspersons, and algorithmic transparency in news production.
